In a school zone during specified hours, the maximum speed limit is set at 30 km/hr to ensure the safety of children who may be crossing the street or walking near the school. This reduced speed limit helps minimize the risk of accidents and provides drivers with enough reaction time to respond to unexpected behavior from students. In school zones, it's essential for drivers to be vigilant, as children can be unpredictable and may not always be aware of traffic rules.

The specified hours for this reduced speed limit typically align with the times when students are arriving or leaving school, showcasing the focus on their safety during those key periods. While other speed limits may apply outside of these hours or in different areas, the 30 km/hr limit is a well-established regulation aimed at protecting the safety of children in school environments.
